I Think... It takes time

I was having a conversation with a friend who just graduated from the University and said she is looking for a job. When I asked her what she wanted to do, she said… “Anything that won’t stress me but will pay well” Needless to say, I laughed and walked away.

As we grow older, we discover that life is not a bed of roses. We also understand that it is not a bed of thorns either… its both! A combination of pain, frustration, depression, sadness, challenges, disappointments and mistakes mixed with happiness, breakthroughs, surprises, expectations, achievements etc.

As time goes by, the things we hoped to understand “when we get older” become more mysterious and complicated. Most of us have moved from “my monthly allowance from daddy” to “my payslip from my employer”… ok, some of us didn’t have any “monthly allowance from daddy” but there has been progression. We have moved from point “A” to point “B”. Whether intellectually, socially, financially, physically or academically, there has been movement. But we are still not satisfied. Something is always missing…

Is it just a natural tendency of man to move above what he has accomplished already or is it God speaking to those who don’t have Him to reconsider by making us feel emptiness inside? Everyone has their opinion and I will not choose for you. What I do know is that whether you believe in God or not, you will always believe things can be better. That you can achieve more… that you can have more.

We have all made mistakes in the past. Some of us are still nursing the wounds our mistakes have caused us. Every decision has its reward… or consequences. As we move on in life towards our aspirations and dreams, we begin to wonder how much time has passed, how much we have gone through to get to where we are, how many people have been instrumental to our successes and falls… and then we look forward to the future!

That is what this article is about. Looking forward to the Future. There will always be a way forward no matter what we are going through or what we have achieved. We can still move forward. We can still do more. We can still be better.

When an outcome is unknown, decisions and action are the only ways to find out what side of the fence the fat lady will sing. The good end or the bad end.
If you are about to make an important decision, remember one thing… You Must Move Forward! As much as this is an encouragement to everyone… I need this too!

Because “something” is the best today, does not mean “something” better can not emerge tomorrow!

Cheers!
